WEDSHED PLANNING RESOURCES TO HELP DURING COVID-19

Planning Your Wedding during COVID-19 // Wow, haven’t we all been on quite a rollercoaster these last few months. One that we’re all more than ready to get off! My heart breaks for so many couples who have needed to postpone wedding days that they’ve excitedly been planning and looking forward to for years, along with those newly engaged couples who would love nothing more than to dive into planning their big days but are in two minds as to whether or not it is the right time to do so.

Gen + Trys were my first COVID-19 effected couple, postponing their wedding the week it was due to take place at wonderful Bendooley Estate in the Southern Highlands. But we’ll all be back there in early 2021, their (new) countdown is on!

My advice to everyone – keep going, there is a light at the end of the tunnel that we are all starting to see. Greater clarity is starting to arrive as to what weddings might look like for the foreseeable future.

You are not alone – as an industry we are doing everything we can to support not only displaced couples but also new couples who are looking at getting married in 2021. It is a different world we are all finding ourselves in and demand for key 2021 wedding dates is higher than ever, particularly for those very busy wedding months (March to May and September to November). Lock in your favourite wedding vendors as soon as possible – once you’ve locked in your wedding venue it’s never too early to assemble your A Team of vendors to help bring the vision you have for your wedding day to life.

There are so many amazing resources to help guide you through this time of uncertainty and by far my go to resource that I’ve been recommending to all of my couples has been Wedshed. I have been a long-term admirer and support of Amy, Mel and the wonderful team at Wedshed. They have been regularly sharing so many fantastic articles to support couples via their Wedspiration blog.

They also run Wedchat by Wedshed, a couples only Facebook group all about giving great advice and suggestions while giving couples a safe pace that they can connect. It sounds a bit cliché but knowing that you are not alone in what you’re going through and being able to chat about that with other couples from what some of my couples have told me has been great.

Their latest endeavour is Wedstore by Wedshed offering even more resources and planning tools to help couples keep your wedding day on track. Having seen their comprehensive Wedshed eGuide: The Vow-Writing Guide I could not recommend it more highly.

Team Wedshed, thank you for the amazing work you are doing for both couples and the industry. Your innovation and approach is such a breath of fresh air… and for the record you also know how to throw one hell of an industry party!
